Our culture is on a never-ending nostalgia kick; Marilyn Monroe, classic rock, ads from the 1970s. So what’s wrong with nostalgia for old magazines?
Los Angeles-based fashion label Altru Apparelgot a license from Life magazine to place mid-20th century news and feature photos on its hipster T-shirts. Wanna wear a T-shirt bearing a Life pic of President Kennedy? A black and white shot of girls in short shorts (the women in that Life photo could be in their 80s now), a dusty bike race with classic motorcycles?It’s a different kind of nostalgia.
