FNO-LA: Robertson and West Hollywood

Robertson Boulevard produced an electric Fashion’s Night Out festivities on Sept. 6, and waves of people walked up and down the street to take in all of its sights and sounds.

For star power, Grammy nominated group Foster The People spun a DJ set at Intermix. Staff at Robertson boutiques All Saints Spitalfields, Chanel, Kitson and Zimmerman fielded Christmas style crowds during the evening, and exotic food trucks fed the hungry masses.

There was an estimated turnout of more than 4,000 people, because Robertson boutiques banded together and worked with an events planner for the first time to organize its Fashion's Night Out, said A.J. Steinberg of Masquerade Events, the Robertson FNO planner. Robertson merchants were able to speak with an unified voice because many of the merchants are forming new merchants group, Robertson Retail Association, which is scheduled to formally launch in January.

Designer Coco Michel wished the Robertson crowd dressed for the occasion though. “In California, it’s very casual,” said the Monte Carlo-born, London educated man. He took the night in with Milan born Elena Colombo. “People should be dressed up to a T on Fashion’s Night Out,” she said. “I’m disappointed.”
