Cherokee's Latest International Venture
Cherokee Inc., the people known for licensing the Mossimo brand name to Target, is now selling its Cherokee brand in Indonesia.
Cherokee said it launched children's and infant wear at two department store chains: Seibu and Sogo. The nameplates are subsidiaries of PT Mitra Adiperkase Tbk, which has 1,400 stores in 52 Indonesia cities.
The styles are designed in California and include a wide assortment of casual looks, from woven shorts, pants and denim to sweatshirts, jackets and dresses.
Cherokee, which is headquartered in Sherman Oaks, has been successful in launching its Cherokee brand at Target and around the world. It is now in 40 countries. Other brands owned by Cherokee include Sideout, Liz Lange and Carole Little.
