Surf Expo to Co-locate With E-commerce Event

Surf Expo organizer GLM announced plans to co-locate the Internet Retailer e-commerce conference with the September 2013 Surf Expo show in Orlando, Fla.

GLM produces 22 shows, including The New York International Gift Fair, the International Contemporary Furniture Fair, Internet Retailer Conference and Exhibition, the National Stationery Show, Surf Expo and SURTEX.

Internet Retailer at Surf Expo will offer Surf Expo retailers and exhibitors on-site access to e-commerce vendors. The Internet Retailer event provides retailers and vendors with a host of business knowledge concerning market trends, technology and main influencers in the e-commerce industry.

“Surf Expo has been the premier trade show for the boardsports and beach-lifestyle industry for more than 35 years,” said Charles G. McCurdy, chairman and chief executive officer of GLM. “This is an example of our continued investment in the success and growth of that marketplace. As the industry’s first and only co-located e-commerce event, it is designed to help our Surf Expo customers—whether retailers or vendors—sell more effectively, both online and offline.”

Surf Expo is produced in January and September each calendar year and welcomes buyers from across the globe. The Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, where the show is held, has about 215,000 square feet of space, and the show attracts more than 11,400 buyers during its three-day run. Surf Expo hosts approximately 2,000 booths of apparel and hardgoods and features fashion shows, annual awards ceremonies and demos.

Surf Expo is taking place Jan. 10–12 at the Orange County Convention Center. For more information, visit www.surfexpo.com
