MAGGIE'S WILD NEW STYLE

Maggie Barry's Urban Jungle x Fashion Minga

Maggie Barry typically stays in the background, but at the upcoming Fashion Minga show Oct. 17 at Exchange LA nightclub in downtown Los Angeles, her designs will be taking center stage.

The Los Angeles-based Barry has built a career making costumes for rockers such as Nicki Minaj and Van Halen. Earlier this year she debuted men’s streetwear line M8. At Fashion Minga, she’ll also show her imaginative, self-named women’s line Maggie Barry. The women's line features over the top looks like dresses with flamingo figures on them and baby hoop skirts with embroidered roses and a lot of lace. There's also the Dragon Eye jackets; or bomber jackets with laser cut leather details. Barry summed up the style of her whole Spring/Summer '14 collection, both M8 and Maggie Barry, with two words; Urban Jungle. It also happens to be the name of the collection.

Barry said her looks are "high end event wear." They’re meant to be performing on stage and going to see a concert. But what’s wrong with wearing them on the street? Didn’t Shakespeare say “All the world is a stage?”

Fashion Minga also will showcase new looks from brands Coquette, CA 11 by Courtney Allegra, Kathryn Hynes, MS Scandal, Horse of Arabia, Priska Wearable Art and BRDLY Apparel.
