PARTY AT KIM SING

What the Boys Are Wearing

Streetwear and mens fashions were the obsessions and the points of business at the first Los Angeles Men’s Market Initiative trade event and the debut Men’s Fashion Week Los Angeles. Both events wrapped up Tuesday, and buyers and vendors celebrated a successful debut at the Kim Sing Theatre in Chinatown, where the Flagship showroom is located.

Boys will be boys. Many in the party crowd dressed in T-shirts and jeans. But some got in the spirit of the shows and dressed more creatively. Take a look.

The Fashion Grunge blogging crew, from left, Jacob Valentin, Cody James McCook and Lauren M. Brown. In the spirit of the week, they're working on a feature for Boys by Girls magazine, a UK fashion publication. Need more proof that boys are ruder than girls? Who is the nut case standing behind the bloggers? Why is he making that rude gesture? Get outta my picture dude!

Men's Market and Men's Fashion Week could have been a magnet for testosterone. The party's music should have been Led Zeppelin or Insane Clown Posse. Instead, the music was band Summer Twins, which featured a female singer and drummer. Vive la difference!
