For those who grew up with the flick Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Vans will forever be the checkerboard slip- on shoe worn by the Ur-Dude Jeff Spicoli, (Who can forget Spicoli’s quote “All I need are some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and I'm fine.” Words to live by, my friend.)
But of course, Vans continued to grow and prosper while holding onto its skate roots. It will be debuting a collab slip on shoe with J.Crew’s Madewell line. The public is invited to a party for the collaboration at Madewell’s shop at 1349 Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica. The party goes off from 6 to 8 PM. Gnarly, as Spicoli would say.
