Chagoury Blooms on Melrose

Sure, it’s spring, but the cherry blossoms in the windows of the Chagoury boutique at 8378 Melrose Ave. in West Hollywood are not entirely about April flowers or spring showers. They represent a reopening of the Chagoury boutique and a new direction for the label.

Since 2009, it has been known for couture, but Gilbert Chagoury, the namesake and the designer for the brand has been making way for his new ready-to-wear line. The preview line took a bow in Fall 2014. The much larger spring line offers 30 pieces, which include a tuxedo dress, a bow shirt, a baby doll dress, and items made with lace, charmeuse, and organza.

Chagory redesigned the store, not only with cherry blossoms, but with silver and black colors. The line also features a new logo.

Chagoury said that he is still in the couture business. “I still have small couture collection – for every season I will have 4 to 6 couture pieces made to give a feel for the vision for that season,” he said.
