In Los Angeles, there was a legendary venue which hosted events for Muhammad Ali and Johnny Rotten.
It was the Grand Olympic Auditorium. While the gritty venue is now the address for a mega-church, a group of documentarians hopes to tell the Olympic Auditorium’s story of its more than 50-years of grit, sports achievement and its punk rock finale. The group started a Kickstarter campaign this week to raise $60,000 to produce the documentary. On April 30, they threw something of a launch party for the campaign at the Ron Robinson boutique in Santa Monica.
