American Rag Parties For The Brand & The Book

Sometimes you have to make up a good reason to have a party. In the case of a big gathering Aug. 10 at American Rag Cie in Los Angeles, there were a couple of good reasons.

First, American Rag founder Mark Werts did a reading from his new book America’s Simple Solutions, A Visionary’s Blueprint for a Better Tomorrow. It discusses how the U.S. can learn from other countries’ successes in healthcare, taxation and welfare. If it sounds dry, Werts’ put his distinctive humor in the book and at the party. How’s this for mixing business and pleasure? The recommended drink for the night was America’s Simple Mule.

It was also a celebration for the second season of American Rag’s 321 brand. Werts said that the brand was originally meant to be nothing more than a house brand for American Rag. “It has evolved into something bigger than that,” he said.

Think wholesale. It has been placed at high end boutiques around the country such as Kinfolk, Tenant, Base and Seldom Seen. Check out a bit more on 321 here.
