Paul Smith Photo Day

They say L.A. is a place where no one gets out of their cars. It means that there are few public spaces where people actually gather and mingle in the metropolis. But the bright pink Paul Smith boutique in West Hollywood has presented an alternative. Taking a selfie photo might have built some community as cars race by the shop.

People frequently take selfies or photos of friends in front of the boutique’s pink walls in the parking lot area. Perhaps it’s a pop-up park. The store staff has never invited the public to take photos in front of the shop. There has been no organized effort to create a street scene, according to people working at the shop. But there it is, a step-and-repeat for those who love a unique, pink backdrop. Take a look.
