Kashou Honored by L.A. City Council

Los Angeles designer Rami Kashou was on hand at the opening of the Los Angeles City Council on April 10, where he was honored by City Council President Eric Garcetti and Councilmember Jan Perry for his contributions to the city’s fashion community.

“It is a proud moment for me as a resident of Echo Park and of Los Angeles to honor designer Rami Kashou,” Garcetti said. “I know there’s all sorts of folks in the council horseshoe who are ’Project Runway’ fans.”

Kashou was among the finalists in the most recent season of Bravo’s fashion reality show, “Project Runway.” The designer’s work has appeared on the runway at Los Angeles Fashion Week, New York Fashion Week and Gen Art.

“You did such a wonderful job representing the city of Los Angeles,” Perry said.

In thanking the City Council for the honor, Kashou said, “Moments like this remind me that dreams do come true. I’m very proud to be living in a city that celebrates art and fashion.”
