Lisa Kline Fifth Annual Fashion Show

Who wasn’t there at retailer Lisa Kline’s fashion show on Dec. 6? Seating was scarce and body heat in abundance at the event held at the dimly lit Mexican bar and eatery El Dorado, located in the Brentwood section of Los Angeles. Around 350 men and women, including celebs Dean Cain and David Schwimmer, dressed in hipster fashions—from lacy tops and oh-so-low jeans to pencil skirts and boots to logo tees and boxy jeans—never held back as the parade of clothing showcased denim, Fall looks, Summer casual, hot eveningwear, lingerie and swimwear.

“[Kline’s] clothing is different, funky and edgy—she gets it,” said Nicole Allowitz, a stylist for “Access Hollywood.”

The 1 1/2-hour show covered more than 150 ensembles by a host of designers, including Theory, Juicy, James Perse, Yigal Azrouel, Noir, Paul & Joe, Sky, Joomi Joolz and Just Cavalli.

Lace and feminine touches were part of the “Sex and the City” eveningwear theme, which included Foley’s black strapless dress trimmed in eyelet lace, a vintage plaid jacket accented with eyelet lace by Noir, and a mismatched-hem skirt by Yigal Azrouel with a scalloped edge.

Denim modifications included side-fringe details on Bella Dahl jeans and flared legs by Miss Sixty. A more adventurous look was designer Anna Gabelli’s belted, brown leather jacket sporting blue denim patches and trim. Men’s and women’s Western shirts by James Perse and Joomi Joolz complemented the jeans.

Sweatsuits dominated the “Malibu Casual” Summer theme, including Juicy’s pink, low-rise, cropped-leg terry cloth outfit and Dragon Fly’s black sweatsuit with a skull-and-bones side-leg trim.

Catcalls continued during the swimsuit and pasties-adorned lingerie portion of the show. Rosa Cha side-tie bikinis in dog and shoe prints dominated the runway as did polka-dot, lace and star lingerie prints by Underglam, Cosabella and Leigh Bantivoglio.
