Hot Topic Tests Plus-Size Junior Stores
City of Industry, Calif.-based Hot Topic Inc., the mall-based specialty retailer of music-licensed and music-influenced apparel and accessories, has set locations for its six-store test of Torrid, the company’s new plus-size junior retail concept. The company will open stores at Brea Mall in Brea, Calif.; Mission Valley Center in San Diego; Southwest Plaza in Littleton, Colo.; Westwoods Mall in Omaha, Neb.; Annapolis Mall in Annapolis, Md.; and Emerald Square Mall in North Attleboro, Mass.
The Brea store is scheduled to open in late April. The other five Torrid stores are expected to open their doors in May. —Louis Chunovic
