New Faces in Design at North Face

San Leandro, Calif.-based The North Face announced the appointment of four new designers in the company’s research design and development department.

Karen Lugossy DesJardins will be returning to the company as design director of outerwear and snowsports after a four-year stint as head designer of technical outerwear and fleece at Marmont Mountain.

Jim Sadler, Robert Tuggle and Derek Patterson have also been appointed equipment designer, sportswear design director and graphic designer, respectively.

Sadler, a founder of Skunkworks, Inc., a material and manufacturing design service to action sports companies, also served as snowboarding apparel and accessory designer and product manager at Burton Snowboards.

Tuggle was the design director of men’s and women’s apparel at Columbia Sportswear Company, while Patterson worked as apparel and graphic designer for Signal apparel and Umbro.
