Market Week Runway: Johnny Wonder & Mirela Lomota
Johnny Wonder and Mirela Lomota recently joined forces to create a collaborative collection, and on June 1, the two staged their first runway show at the trendy Sunset Room in Hollywood to make it official.
The Johnny Wonder & Mirela Lomota collection paired Wonder’s leather, denim, wool and printed silk separates and dresses with Lomota’s embellished Renaissance-like tops and blouses. The result was romance with an edge.
“We had an incredible team of people who worked with us,” said Lomota, including stylist Mikel Padilla, who helped the duo by styling the show.
“I’m just extremely grateful for everyone’s efforts,” said Wonder.
“We didn’t know what kind of feedback we’d get since the collection is new,” he said about the show. “But after all the phone calls and from people saying how much they loved it, I think it was a great success. I’m pleased.” —Joselle Yokogawa
