The Textile Association of Los Angeles (TALA) teamed up with the American Red Cross to host a blood drive on March 7 at the California Mart. TALA member Howard Gilman was one of several members of the apparel and textile community who turned out to donate blood. This year marked the return of the TALA-sponsored drive after a two-year hiatus. The blood drive had a good turnout that included apparel and textile reps, CalMart executives and several Fashion District Business Improvement District workers.
