Second Generation Combines Labels

Los Angeles-based junior and children’s apparel manufacturer Second Generation has just merged its two junior and kids labels, Second Generation and Bebop.

The line will be merchandised under both brand names to current accounts; the two labels’ sales, showrooms and designers will be folded into one unit, according to the company.

“We’ll now have a lot more to offer our customers. More product, better service hellip;it just made sense to do this,” said Karyn Newman, a partner in the company. “We’ll be more of a one-stop shop from now on.”

Newman’s other partners are Michael Weisberg, Kelly Moustris and Ken Ferestien.

The line’s aesthetic will now run the gamut from Second Generations’ signature glitter and embroidery-trimmed bottoms to the fashion-forward novelty items Bebop produces.

The company’s combined customer base includes retailers Bloomingdale’s, Kids R Us and Charlotte Russe.
