Modern Amusement Opens L.A. Store, Unveils Women's Line

Costa Mesa, Calif.-based menswear manufacturer Modern Amusement has opened a 1,000-square-foot boutique on Third Street in Los Angeles, where the company will showcase its men’s apparel line and unveil a small collection of women’s knit tops. This marks the manufacturer’s first retail store in the Los Angeles area.

The company has five boutiques, in Costa Mesa, Calif.; Honolulu, Osaka, Japan; and two in Tokyo. The Los Angeles store will carry all of the Modern Amusement product lines, including woven and knit tops, bottoms, outerwear, sweaters and accessories.

Jeff Yokoyama, whose industry tenure includes 1980s brand Maui & Sons and Pirate Surf, founded Modern Amusement in 1995. —Alison A. Nieder
