Kosa Adds New Fibers

Charlotte, N.C.-based fiber producer Kosa has three new products in its catalog: an anti-microbial fiber, a stretch polyester fiber with a cotton-like hand and a polyester yarn that can be dyed at low temperatures.

The anti-microbial product, Imbue, is a polyester fiber with a silver ceramic additive that helps fabric made from the yarn resist bacterial and fungal growth through the lifetime of the garment.Stretch-aire is a single polyester yarn engineered to have both stretch and a cotton-like hand and appearance. Accepta polyester can be dyed at lower temperatures than traditional polyester, without losing color-fastness. The yarn was designed to be blended with heat-sensitive fibers including spandex, wool and acetate. —Alison A.Nieder
