Sirena Sells Remaining Assets

Los Angeles-based Foothill Capital, owner of Sirena Apparel Group, has sold its remaining swimwear business—-including production facilities and 300 machines—to Gardena, Calif.-based Apparel Ventures, according to Brian Zientek, Sirena’s chief executive officer.

The company plans to auction the remaining assets.

Employees at Sirena’s facilities in Vernon, Calif., and Mexico have been offered positions with Apparel Ventures, according to Zientek.

The news follows an earlier announcement that Liz Claiborne has transferred its swim license from Sirena to Vernon-based Maxine Swim Group. The license includes Liz Claiborne, Elisabeth, Crazy Horse and Villager labels. David Burnett, who formerly headed up the Liz Claiborne swim division at Sirena, will continue as president for the swim brand, and Lisa Pikul will remain as design director. —Alison A. Nieder
