OptiTex to Open Los Angeles Office

New York–based CAD developer OptiTex USA Inc. will soon open a Los Angeles office to service its growing West Coast customer base. The company said it will release details on its West Coast facilities in the coming weeks.

OptiTex develops and markets software for apparel and textile design. For the past six years, the company had supplied software to West Coast customers through Tukatech Inc., but both companies recently decided to end their OEM (other equipment manufacturer) agreement. Tukatech has since moved on to market its own CAD product, TukaCAD.net. OptiTex officials said customers with version 8.93 or earlier of TukaCAD can upgrade to Opti- Tex 9.0 to obtain support services.

The latest version, released in January, has 200 new features, including full networking capabilities and 3-D visualization, said OptiTex USA President Yoram Burg.

Another version that will allow users to exchange files through product data management, enterprise resource planning and product lifecycle management applications is in development. OptiTex will also offer its own PDM product.
