Confidence Up, Way Up

The Consumer Confidence Index rose dramatically to 101.9 in June from 93.1 in May, according to The Conference Board, the New York–based research company that compiles the index. The group also saw increases in the Present Situation Index, which rose to 104.8 from 90.5. And consumers appear to be optimistic about the future. The Board’s Expectations Index rose to 100 from 94.8.
