Anne Cole's Summer Tour

Anne Cole hit the road this spring. The petite swimwear designer with a big personality recently returned from a public appearance tour to promote her Spring and Summer 2004 swimwear line.

On her two-city tour, Cole stopped at Saks Fifth Avenue in New York, where she held “Spring Summer 2004,” a fashion show that included the Anne Cole Locker line. She also gave customers an early preview of her Cruise 2005 collection and helped them shop for swimwear.

Cole then zipped down to the Aventura Mall in Aventura, Fla., where the “Evolution of Anne Cole Swimwear” exhibit was displayed from April 23 through 25. Presented by specialty retail chain Swim ’n Sport, the exhibit included early designs by the designer’s father, Fred Cole, who founded Cole of California in 1925.

A swimsuit enthusiast, Cole loaned a few items from her personal collection to the exhibit; a few of the wool swimsuits dated back to the late 1800s. Cole did double duty, helping to curate the exhibit and assist customers with swimwear advice.

Cole is a hands-on person who jumps in the dressing room and helps customers with their suits, said an Anne Cole Swimwear spokeswoman. —Shuba Pillai
