Levi's Closures
San Francisco–based Levi Strauss & Co. announced plans to close two sewing factories in Spain as part of the company’s efforts to save money by shifting from companyowned production facilities to outside contractors. About 450 people were employed at the Spain facilities, which are Levi’s last remaining factories in Western Europe. Last year, the company shuttered its remaining North American facilities.
