MAGIC Adds Hilton Space for February Show

Woodland Hills, Calif.–based MAGIC International has acquired space in the Las Vegas Hilton to use for the next MAGIC Marketplace trade show, set for Feb. 14–17, 2005.

The space is adjacent to the main trading area at the Las Vegas Convention Center. MAGIC has taken over the ballroom, pavilion and center areas in the hotel, which was previously occupied by the ASAP Global Sourcing Show. ASAP has moved its next event to The Venetian hotel.

“Our strategic decision to acquire the Hilton space addresses the needs of our attendees and exhibitors and adequately prepares MAGIC for the future,” said Laura McConnell, general manager at Boston-based Advanstar Communications Inc., MAGIC’s parent company. “As pleased as we are with the response to our last event, we want to make sure that we are constantly evolving and looking for ways to make a great show even better.”

Last August, MAGIC officials moved the WWDMAGIC show from the Sands Expo & Convention Center to the LVCC to put all of its sub-shows under one roof. The proximity of the Hilton space will allow the event to expand by at least 50,000 square feet.

The MAGIC Marketplace now encompasses six shows: MAGIC, WWDMAGIC, MAGIC Kids, The Edge, The Sourcing Zone and Fabric@MAGIC. —Robert McAllister
