Los Angeles Fashion Week Spring '05: Enyce and Lady Enyce

The Enyce Clothing Co. prepared for takeoff to all major resort destinations during its runway show at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week at Smashbox Studios in Culver City. The show, which took place on Oct. 25, had front-row guests buckling up in first-class airline seats on “LE Air” (a.k.a. “Lady Enyce Air”).

Co-founder Tony Shellman said the collection was inspired by the travels of his design team, which has journeyed all over the world. He said the look reflects the urban aspects of New York and the relaxed vibe of Los Angeles. “I like bringing the New York energy to L.A.,” he noted.

Models wore colorful styles from the New York–based company’s women’s line, Lady Enyce, and men’s line, Enyce, that were suitable for jetsetters vacationing in Miami, West Hampton and St-Tropez.

Bright colors and ethnic-inspired prints reflected Miami’s cultural style in sexy, casual dresses, sweat outfits and denim looks. Urban sophistication best describes the West Hampton group, which featured preppy tennis dresses, candy-colored polo shirts, plaid and striped shirts, and dressed-up blazer looks combined with informal denim styles. The cool and sophisticated St-Tropez collection included linen suits, floral-print shirts and denim jeans for men and Pucci-esque printed blouses, floral dresses and clean white looks for women. —N.J S.
