Industry, Customs Officials to Speak at ASAP

Representatives from U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the Committee for the Implementation of Textile Agreements (CITA) and the Office of Textiles and Apparel (OTEXA) will be among those participating in the educational program of the ASAP Global Sourcing Show, set for Aug. 28–31 at the Sands Expo & Convention Center and The Venetian in Las Vegas.

OTEXA and CITA officials will discuss how quotas and the recent imposition of safeguards against China have affected the apparel industry.

Executives from Nike Inc., Phillips-Van Heusen Corp., Sara Lee Corp., Jones Apparel Group Inc., Sean John, Russell Corp., Perry Ellis International, CIT, Jockey International Inc. and Adidas-Salomon AG will also address sourcing issues.

Social issues, corporate responsibilities, supply-chain value and financing will be among the other topics discussed.
