New York–based Liz Claiborne Inc. has entered into a confidentiality agreement with Quincy, Mass.–based retail chain J. Jill Group to allow the manufacturing giant to “participate in [the] process of exploringhellip; strategic alternatives” for the retailer. Among those possibilities is a merger with Liz Claiborne, but Liz executives are making no further comments about the agreement.
