FBI's New Manual, DVD

“Fashion for Profit,” the apparel industry manual written by Fashion Business Inc. founder Frances Harder, has been released in its sixth edition with a new chapter on fashion retail.

The chapter covers everything from selecting the right location and financing the business to stocking the proper inventory and keeping accurate records once the store is open.

The book, first published in 2000, is divided into chapters covering specific topics for start-up apparel companies, including a breakdown of the specific steps in developing, financing, producing, marketing and selling an apparel line.

Harder has also produced an accompanying DVD of one of her “Fashion for Profit” seminars, which features guest speakers Greg Weisman, an attorney with Silver & Freedman; Pam Roberts, marketing consultant and co-founder of Pitch PR; and designer Hanna Hartnell.
