AIMS Adds Remote Order Capabilities

Santa Anacedil; Calif.–based Apparel Information Management System, which provides order management software to the apparel industry, is partnering with Groupe BDM, based in Quebec, to incorporate additional remote order-entry capabilities into the AIMS system.

AIMS provides order processing, electronic data interchange, bar-code management, bills of material, inventory management and accounts receivable functions as part of its software system.

With the addition of BDM’s Internet-based tools, sales forces from any location can access information from laptops, handheld devices or other electronic tools without having to re-key data from the home office.

“This new feature will increase AIMS’ functionality and speed up the ordering process for sales representatives,” said Stephane Blanchet, vice president of marketing for BDM. “It will allow them to increase their sales, eliminate errors on customer orders, transmit the orders instantly to their manufacturer and directly into AIMS, saving everyone huge amounts of time and money.”

AIMS is a member of Los Angeles–based Fashion Business Inc., which provides educational and work resources to the apparel industry.
