Intentia Names New CEO

Swedish software developer Intentia has hired David Rode as its new U.S.-based chief executive officer. Rode will oversee Intentia Americas Inc., located in Schaumburg, Ill.

Rode, formerly a vice president for Information Builders in New York, replaces Linus Parker, who will undertake a new senior role within the company. Parker helped Intentia Americas become a leading supplier of modern Java-based enterprise resource planning (ERP) solutions to the manufacturing and distribution industries.

Intentia Americas markets Movex Fashion ERP systems, which assist apparel and textile companies with supplychain management through online collaboration with trading partners.

The appointment comes on the heels of Intentia’s recently announced alliance with Swedish business intelligence provider Cognos. That company plans to help Intentia extend its technology platform to Sun Microsystems’ open J2EE architecture, optimized for IBM WebSphere, with hardware running on Linux and Microsoft Windows servers. The companies will also expand their joint sales, marketing and development activities through the alliance. —Robert McAllister
