Bebe Moves to Rodeo Drive
Bebe will open a new, free-standing boutique on exclusive Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills in November 2005, according to a recent company announcement.
The new boutique, which will be approximately 7,600 square feet, will be located at 308–310 N. Rodeo Drive, a building owned by English real estate company Grosvenor.Brisbane, Calif.–based Bebe Stores Inc. also runs a store more than one block away at 319 N. Beverly Drive. Company representatives declined to comment on whether that store will close when the Rodeo Drive boutique opens.
The move to an iconic street is a trophy to top off a spectacular year for Bebe. The company has reported comparative-store sales in the high double digits since late 2004. Retail analyst Liz Pierce wrote in a June 20 research note that she expects Bebe’s stock to “outperform” estimates this fall. —Andrew Asch
