OptiTex Launches CAD File Converter

New York–based OptiTex USA Inc. has released a new pattern and marker converting system that allows CAD users to convert files from various originations on the spot into OptiTex’s 3-D software.

“The biggest issue for CAD/CAM users is the ability to share production files with any overseas or local manufacturer regardless of the software or version of software. OptiTex converters offer the perfect solution, without missing information. Customers can convert grading, variation grading, mirrored pieces, notch types and even markers,” said Julia Shaw, support/project manager for the company.

The new converters are able to accommodate Lectra’s .mdl, .vet or .iba files, as well as all versions of Gerber Technology Inc.’s files and Microdynamic files with .d, .g, .syn, .ann and .m extensions. It can also address Investronica’s .zona, .exp and .pgs files.

OptiTex representatives said the new enhancements are part of a company-wide strategy to create an open system.
