DMC Expands Contemporary Offerings

The Dallas Market Center is adding another 7,000 square feet of contemporary apparel space to FashionCenterDallas, its wholesale market center.

The expansion is expected to be completed for the Aug. 18–21 women’s and children’s market. DMC officials said the building has signed ABS Clothing to anchor the new extension. The Los Angeles–based company, which markets A.B.S. by Allen Schwartz, will double its current space at the DMC. More leases will be announced in the coming weeks, said DMC spokesperson Cole Dougherty. The contemporary space at FashionCenterDallas will total more than 125,000 square feet.

“Expanding our marketplace to allow for more contemporary showrooms is a logical step based upon demand,” said Cindy Morris, the DMC’s chief operating officer. “Contemporary is essential for retailers who are looking to stay ahead of the competition, and we welcome the chance to enhance our reputation as the marketplace offering buyers a premier selection.”

Among the current tenants are Walter, Joystick, True Religion, Custo Barcelona, Mandalay, Trunk Ltd., Joe’s Jeans, AG Adriano Goldschmied, 7 for All Mankind, Le Tigre, Da-Nang, Splendid and Sacred Blue. —Robert McAllister
