Managing Storyboards, Swatches and Sketches

New York–based Yunique Solutions Inc. has debuted ADAM, a Webbased digital asset management system aimed at helping apparel firms manage sketches, storyboards, fabric, swatches, etc. through a central database.

ADAM serves as a centralized storage area for sketches, artwork, logos, trims, accessories, fabric swatches, storyboards, photos, presentations and other digital files.

Users can attach all relevant information and attributes to each stored asset, such as image size, creation date, color, season, copyright information, etc. Company officials estimate that the system can help companies shave up to an hour a day off of the product development life cycle.

ADAM maintains a full history on every image, tracking each version of the image and providing the ability to roll back to previous versions when necessary. All changes are recorded to a change log that can be accessed to provide visibility into the full life cycle of any given asset.

The system is built on Microsoft’s .NET framework, which makes it available on both Mac and PC platforms. It also accepts all standard file formats, including native Adobe Illustrator and PhotoShop files, as well as all major proprietary CAD systems.
