San Francisco Fashion Week '05: The Sweatfree Campaign

Global Exchange, a human rights organization that promotes the sale of sweatshopfree apparel nationwide, enlisted the help of several Bay Area designers and labels for its collection. Deanna Bratt Lovett, Textile Link by Mikita, Porcelynne, Erin Mahoney and Spare Change Designs by Camilla Slater Boland were among those contributing to the line. The designers defined their styles using a mixture of silk, jersey and denim fabrics. A black butterfly-print halter dress, deconstructed denim skirts, deconstructed jersey shirts with contrasting details and tie-dyed sweaters were just a few standout looks in the collection.
