Cavalli Drinks Fashionably in L.A.

The names of legendary artists are increasingly appearing on new lines of liquor.

There’s Jimi Hendrix Vodka and Frida Kahlo Tequila.

Even Italian fashion designer Roberto Cavalli recently added his name to the mix. The designer, who first made a splash more than 20 years ago with garments bearing vibrant animal prints, debuted a line of vodka bearing his name.

On May 11, Cavalli made a stop in the exclusive Holmby Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles for a celebrity-studded party for Roberto Cavalli Vodka.

Model Cindy Crawford and fashionista/socialite Nicky Hilton partied at the event, where Cavalli was greeted by a blinding flash of paparazzi cameras. The vodka, which is distilled in Italy, will retail for $60 and be distributed in the United States by Southern Wines & Spirits. Cavalli designed a bottle wrapped by a serpent-like shape.

He said the inspiration to license his name for a vodka came from a desire to overcome new challenges.

“I wanted to show people that I can design anything,” Cavalli said.
