Sideffects Returns to CMC

Los Angeles–based Sideffects, a 30-year-old manufacturer known for its extensive line of misses knitwear, has returned to the California Market Center after a five-year absence. The company has opened a showroom in suite A359 of the CMC.

The company moved out of the building in 2002 when then-owner Hertz Investments began converting its previous home in the C wing of the center into a gift and home-furnishings sector. Sideffects returned last October under new CMC owners Jamison Properties.

“Our last market was very successful, and we’re happy with the traffic here,” said sales manager Gina Klein-Yao. The company previously maintained sales through its Glendale, Calif., warehouse.

Sideffects recently gained a patent for its “J-pocket” design. The company offers about 100 styles featuring sportswear, suits, dusters, and sweater coats using a number of fabrications. Wholesale price points start at $26 for cardigans. For more information, call (213) 622-5611.—Robert McAllister
