Bridal Store's California Rollout
In a world crazy about fast fashion, Alfred Angelo makes wedding dresses that take four to six weeks to complete. Brides must not mind the wait. The Philadelphia-based independent bridalwear company will open five new boutiques in Southern California during the first quarter of 2008.
With the debut of boutiques in Brea, Calif., pictured, and West Covina, Calif., on Jan. 12, the company will run 43 freestanding boutiques across the United States. By March, it will open three more California boutiques in Oceanside, Riverside and Rancho Cucamonga.
The bridalwear company plans to operate a fleet of 50 boutiques by 2009. Alfred Angelo stores typically range from 1,000 to 4,000 square feet. Retail price points range from $399 to $3,000 for the silk wedding gowns. The company also makes special-occasion dresses for proms, bridesmaids, flower girls and mothers of the bride. —Andrew Asch
