Little Black Dress Returns-As a Pop-up Shop

Little Black Dress, the multi-city fashion fund-raiser for local charities, returns on Sept. 16—this time as a pop-up store in West Hollywood, Calif.

In collaboration with retailers such as EM & Co. and Apartment3, the LBD shop will feature limitededition designs from Los Angeles designers, including Jeffrey Sebelia and Smoke & Mirrors, as well as labels such as Vivienne Westwood, Le Rock and Kira Plastinina. Running until Oct. 25, the Little Black Dress pop-up store will be located at 8570 Sunset Blvd.

Little Black Dress debuted in Los Angeles in 2002 as a one-night charity gala featuring little black dresses whipped up by notable local designers—including Louis Verdad, Kevan Hall, Rami Kashou, Tadashi, Sue Wong, Peter Cohen, Lloyd Klein and Nony Tochterman of Petro Zillia—and auctioned for charity.

After its Los Angeles launch, the event expanded to New York and the United Kingdom. Now a four-week event, this year’s presentation, which includes nightly events, will benefit the Elijah Kelley Foundation Fund, The Saban Free Clinic, Junior League and Dress for Success.

Weekly art exhibitions will debut each Wednesday during the “Canvas and Couture” nights. Thursdays will feature a “Movie and a Makeover” series with fashion film screenings and beauty and salon services. Friday evenings will pair “Vino and Vinyasa,” where guests can unwind with a yoga class and wine tasting, and Saturday afternoons will house “Junior Style Labs,” where kids can unleash their inner fashion designer.
