Zappos#039; $50K Tee
Las Vegas–based online shoe and apparel retailer Zappos.com is offering a $50,000 T-shirt that comes with an added bonus: Customers who buy one of Zappos’ limited-edition “Cease and Desist” tees can get their spouse or significant other’s Zappos account frozen for life. The tongue-in-cheek tee, available at www.zappos.com/50k, features the phrase “It only cost me $50,000 to stop my wife from shopping at Zappos.com.” Other versions are specific to husband, girlfriend, boyfriend and “it’s complicated.” According to the Web site, a Zappos “Customer Loyalty Team” representative will not only hand-deliver the tee but “break the news” about the frozen Zappos account and “be a shoulder to cry on for up to one hour” and “will be happy to frolic in a field of daisies with you or do anything that is mutually agreed upon to not be morally or ethically objectionable.”
