New Resources Guide: Comune

Frank Delgadillo plans to prove there are second acts in the worlds of skate and active apparel. The former president of popular skate label Ambiguous has launched a new men’s brand, Comune, and is hoping to replicate the success of his first label.

Jacob McCabe, former designer for men’s line Orthodox, is the head designer, and Delgadillo’s partner in designing the Costa Mesa, Calif.–based label is Los Angeles–based manufacturer Komex International Inc., maker of juniors label Bubblegum jeans.

Items include a motorcycle-inspired trench coat; long- and short-sleeve buffalo plaid shirts; and seven styles of jeans.

Comune will be able to carve out a space in any economy, according to Marketing Director Chris Thomas. “There’s always going to be the kid who is going to skateboard, and he is going to want to dress a certain way. If we clothe that kid, we’re going to be all right,” he said.
