Denim to the Max

The latest denim craze is sexy, tighter than tight jeans. So it makes perfect sense that Max and Lubov Azria would take inspiration from denim when creating their Spring 2010 Hervé Léger collection. The Azrias have been reinventing the brand's signature "bandage dress" over the past few seasons and for Spring they softened the typically sleek look with a "homespun" touch.
Inspired by an artsy-craftsy bohemian sensibility, the designer couple created a multi-layered collection full of texture and dimension including crochet and beading. The palette took cues from "dusty sands and desert skies" accented with washed denim effects. Denim took the form of dresses with gradating hues and coordinating patchwork moto jackets.
The free spirited bohemian look fits the softer femininity that is emerging for Spring albeit in the skin-tight variety. After all, denim is America's fabric and if comfort can meet chic then it seems like a winning combination. No doubt Azria's typically front row-filled celebrity crowd, which included Hilary Duff, Mischa Barton, Tinsley Mortimer and model Marisa Miller, will be clad in the look by next season.
