Bella Noire by Biatta

Biatta Intimates—the Los Angeles–based maker of intimates and sleepwear for women, juniors and plus-size women—has added a new label to its lineup.

Bella Noire by Biatta, a new contemporary label set to launch for Fall 2011, targets a fashion-focused customer. The collection, which will retail for $35 to $120, takes a “Brigitte Bardot meets Lady Gaga” approach to intimates, the company said.

The retro-glam collection will include bras, bralettes, bottoms, rompers, tops, boleros, wraps, kimonos, baby-doll slips, chemises and peignoirs in cotton, Modal and silk fabrications. The introductory palette will include select colors of gray, black and white.

The collection will expand Biatta’s current distribution, which includes Sears, Victoria’s Secret, Nordstrom, Bloomingdale’s, Macy’s, Target Corp. and JCPenney. “We saw an opportunity to open more boutique business as well as enter better department stores,” said Amy Berliner, Biatta’s chief operating officer, in a statement. “This new collection also provides a perfect platform to continue our global expansion, as we can offer a different product and price point to our current and potential international customers.”
