Apparel Sales Go High-Tech

This seems like something out of the future, but Hurley has it right now.

The Orange County surf and skate clothing company now lets consumers try their jeans on via the Internet. Yes, that's right. You can try your jeans on and not even leave your computer. How convenient for Silicon Valley types.

The apparel company is working with embodee, which has created digital versions of nearly 400 pairs of jeans across all styles and sizes. Customers can go to Hurley.com and boot up the software, which will ask for your measurements. You can try on tons of different pairs of jeans and see how they fit on you.

Hurley started a pre-launch test in October with embodee, based in Portland, Ore., and now has gone live.

Jeff Hurley, the company's digital director, said that denim sales are up since the technology was implemented. "We believe in the quality and fit of our jeans and wanted to help people find the perfect pair for their body," Hurley said.

It sounds so simple, you might be compelled to buy a dozen pairs of jeans.
