Traffic Up

Cargo-container traffic at the two ports in the Los Angeles area improved in January from a year ago, and exports were up dramatically. The Port of Los Angeles saw a 2.4 percent decline in cargo containers overall, but its export activity jumped 35 percent. Imports dipped 6.7 percent. Next door at the Port of Long Beach, cargo-container traffic was up 7.4 percent, and exports saw a hefty 28 percent rise while imports were up 8.6 percent.
