Agave Adds Licensed Sweaters, Belts

Agave, the premium-denim brand that takes its inspiration from California, will debut a range of men’s fine-gauge and engineered knits for Fall 2010. Produced under a licensing agreement with Vancouver, Canada–based JMAX Global Distributors, the vintage-inspired sweaters are Agave’s first foray into licensing and expand upon the brand’s T-shirt offerings.

“We are proud to have the new license agreement with JMAX in place, as they have an extensive sourcing network at their fingertips. This in turn enables us to really create luxury Agave knit products that are sophisticated yet casual and work perfectly alongside our core collection in addition to giving our customer elegant alternatives to T-shirt dressing,” said Jeff Shafer, Agave’s founder, in a statement.

The debut knitwear collection will include 14 silhouettes in a variety of weights and colors and will be knit from 100 percent Supima cotton, Merino wool and Merino/Alpaca blends. Retail prices for Agave’s sweaters will range from $135 to $200.

The Fall 2010 season will also see the launch of Agave’s new belt collection, which is being created in-house. Retailing for $85 to $120, the collection will include 15 leather belts handmade in California.—Erin Barajas
