The All-Black Royal Arrival

The Globe Restaurant, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

After a 24-hour plane ride from Los Angeles to Paris—and a few private appointments in Paris—I boarded a private jet, made a quick stop to Barcelona, then finally arrived in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the latest stop in my world tour. There are many perspectives on the Middle East, especially Saudi Arabia, but I never knew such a religious and conservative place would become one of my most magical experiences on my Black Glove World Tour.

The minute I landed in the private airport in Riyadh, I was greeted with hospitality, love and compassion. I was told multiple times how the people of Saudi Arabia were so humbled that I had chosen to stop in Riyadh for my Black Glove World Tour. The appreciation, love and warm welcome was beyond anything I had experienced. I was invited to Saudi Arabia by a very special individual, who is one of the most kindest, loving and sophisticated individuals I have ever met. She prefers privacy over recognition and continues to inspire me greatly. I thank her for this amazing trip.

I have many clients in Saudi Arabia, who have become more like family than anything. Their warmth has inspired me for many collections now. After arriving at the airport, I was escorted by multiple individuals to the Al Faisaliah Hotel. My escorts did not forget to wear all black with a mix of the traditional Saudi attire, of course...

Harvey Nichols Saudi Arabia had already launched a full-blown Azature campaign inside and outside their store and private VIP shopping areas. They will be carrying my A.Z. by Azature collection now. This will be the very first department store for Azature. I could not believe the signs that read "Azature, The Black Diamond King" all over the place. One person even said, "The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is looking like the Kingdom of Azature suddenly." I was very humbled and honored.

A major preparation was underway inside The Globe restaurant at the Al Faisaliah Hotel for my four-day exclusive event. Now, if there was one place and venue in the world that fit the Azature lifestyle, it is The Globe. The hotel décor is all black everywhere and boasts a 360-degree view of all of Riyadh. At night, it was the complete Azatire fantasy.
I have been on magazine interviews, newspapers have been writing away about Azature and I just finished a few television interviews. They kept asking me, "What does Azature mean?" I told them, "I don't know what it means, but what I do know is it means black diamonds from now on."

Now I have to go and continue my private appointments—in all black, of course. I have extended my stay for another two days in Saudi Arabia, then I am off to London.

Saudi Arabia, I will miss you.
