GlobalTex Adds Key Player to Boost International Business

With an eye on boosting overseas participation, GlobalTex announced it has appointed a new member to its international marketing team.

Katherine Li, president and owner of Global Nexus Inc., is partnering with GlobalTex to entice more Asian and African companies to participate in the textile and sourcing show, held twice a year at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

Li said she plans to travel to Asia in early 2010 to start marketing the show.

“I will be concentrating on countries mainly in Asia and Africa, like China, Korea, Pakistan, Indonesia, Nepal and Taiwan, as well,” said Li, a native of China.

Global Nexus, based in San Dimas, Calif., partners with government export groups and industry associations looking for export opportunities for their local businesses.

Li was formerly director of international sales for Material World, the textile show held annually in Miami Beach, Fla., until last year.

Li will be reporting to Robbin Wells, executive vice president of leasing with Dallas-based Market Center Management Co., which launched the new textile show last April. The next show is scheduled for March 2–4, and another show is slated for Sept. 28–30.
